Limited slip differentials

Featured Replies

Hi guys

My plan is after I've finished messing around with bumping the power up on my 1.9tdi 100 pd I want to fit a limited slip diff. I have been told that the seat Ibiza 130 and fabia vrs 1.9 gearbox already has a limited slip differential in them.

Any other options ?

Also if I go for the 6 speed 130 box I'll probably fit a race clutch to handle the power better

Has anybody had any experience in this area as I'm struggling to find the best option both upgrading and keeping costs reasonable

Cheers

Jason

Fabia boxes definately don't have a LSD as standard and I'd be very surprised if the Ibiza box did.

Why do you think you need an LSD?

If this is for a road car I suggest you have a detailed chat with a motorsport transmission expert.

If its fast road use or track use its well worth it as it transforms the car!

Same box in some cases so I seriously doubt it!

I would still suggest he needs to talk to a specialist.

You have been told a lie as the stock boxes definetely don't have an LSD of any kind in them.

The options are Wavetrac, Peloquin, Quaife etc...

Wavetrac is my preference but you are looking for around £900 for one of those, without fitting.

Clutch depends on how much torque the engine is producing once modified.

You can get away with an uprated clutch up to a certain point and then will need a single mass flywheel that'll rattle like a bag of spanners whenever the car is idling without the clutch pedal pressed.
