Temperature control not working

Featured Replies

Long story short, i had the temperature controls out to change the smds over to blue ones and after fitting it back in, the temperature control no longer works at all.

It seems to be on hot most of the time but it does change on its own sometimes

I cant remember if the MK1 Fabia was an electronic control system or mechanical linkages, if its electronic I would disconnect the connectors again and check that none of the pins are bent and reconnect, if its still the same it could be the flap motors require recalibration and that needs VCDS. If mechanical check that all the cables are routed correctly and attached to the dial properly.

I'll be taking it out again tomorrow to have a check but i couldn't see anything last time that was broken :(  Is there anyone in Medway with VCDS that would be willing to recalibrate it for me?

Had Gizmo68 plug it into vcds but he found that it was a hardware issue so I replaced the heater control unit and it's working spot on again :D
