Its been approx 4 weeks since my car was given some attention - with family commitments and new house imminent.

So today, i finally got time to try out some recent purchases and prepare the car for next weeks Post Office meet.

 

New product lines which have been of interest include:-

 

Optimum Polymer Technology Car Wash solution

 

ArtDeShine Obsidian Wax

 

Autobrite DA-21

 

 

So the usual sort of process for my detailing sessions....

 

Car Snowfoamed with ValetPRO ph neutral and left to dwell whilst i got on with the alloy wheels.

 

Wheels tackled with Iron-X using Daytona Speed Master brush and Dooka wheel mitt then car fully rinsed.

 

Standard 2BM wash with Dooka wash pad; then de-tar and decontaminate prior to using Britemax BlackMax.

Very impressed with the Optimum Car wash - really slick; and reminiscent of Victoria's Car Shampoo in fact.

 

APC on some pollen spots and bird muck, GT-85 used on minor tar spots plus some minor clay mitt around bird deposits.

 

Car dried with Purple Monster XXL and Metro Vac Sidekick used for drying the remaining nooks and crannies.

 

Car has not been polished since Spring, so i decided to use a fine polish/glaze to rejuvenate the paint work before waxing.

 

Britemax BlackMax was used with my new Autobrite DA-21 and a soft green waffle pad, to basically cleanse the paint surface.

Very easy product to use and you do not need to use a lot of product once pad is primed and running.

No dust or debris to speak of - product breaks down and absorbs completely with a simple microfibre wipedown to finish.

 

Finally i cracked open the ArtDeShine Osidian Wax and applied with a new red foam applicator.

 

 

Wax applied in a very thin coat and left to haze for 10-15 minutes. Buffed off with CarPro BOA edgeless microfibre.

Not as easy to buff off as i had been informed - even for this this application. But looking forward to good beading.

 

Doorshuts and alloys sealed with Sonax BSD, tyres finsihed with Autosmart Highstyle; plastic trim prepared with Trim-X.

Interior seats and mats all brushed, and Mainz Cherry Boom Boom Air freshener applied.

 

Anyway - see below - the results of the day..... approx 5 hours worth start to finish; but a very enjoyable day indeed.

Looks good ste, maybe it's the artdekotsos wax but it looks a darker blue than normal. In a good way.

Finish does look dark; but i think it was mainly the ambient light i took the pictures in later on.

I went out for a quick play with some of my new goodies and lost 5 hours! 

 

ADS feels nice and the dew and condensation this morning were struggling to adhere.

Lots of micro beads, but nothing i could easily get a decent picture of on my phone.

Looks very nice indeed, lovely deep glossy paint. 5hrs well spent IMO, well done.

Thanks for the comment Bob - Obsidian went on really nice; and the results were very pleasing indeed.

Very interested to see the water behaviour and overall durability too.

 

I'll need to send you a couple of the red foam applicator samples - works lovely with this wax! 

Looks good, Artdekotsos is a lovely wax.  Did you apply it really thinnly as it can be a tad tough to remove if over applied?

It was on thin - for sure; and it buffed off fine if left for a good while.

I think perhaps a couple of panels i maybe started buffing too quickly.

 

Still - for first use; it was perfectly usable and the results speak for themselves. 

No pictures i'm afraid - but we had some rain last night and the water behaviour

was very good with ADS Obsidian. The beading this morning looked awesome 

 

2nd coat will be applied before the weekend meet at the Post Office
