Car cam

Featured Replies

Looking to get a car cam for front and rear of car as ive heard alot about these 'crash for cash' things in my area recently, any reccomendations would be great thanks :) .

Loads of things will show up on a search for "dash cam".

Not the cheapest but we use the Blackvue 380 and 400.

Both have proven to be very reliable over a long time and many vehicles.

These are not the newer fancy versions, but they will go for months before corrupting the memory card.

I run a Roadhawk RH2 which corrupts itself in a month as I do lots of miles and it is so rough out here that I trigger about 100 emergency recordings per day over 150 miles when on lowest sensitivity but otherwise it's been a great camera and is good quality!

Got a Blackvue DR530GW which is great but also corrupts very often because of the roads I cover! Both good quality cameras I'd recommend! The Blackvue is two cameras that share one power source and the RH2 is one camera with two directions

I like the look of the blackvue ones and i see what you mean about price, but hey cant put a price on having to go 50/50 on a claim when you could get 100% win if you had a cam!

Seen some of the model you mentioned tox on fleabay for £120 from korea, im taking it that these are imitations and not official, the video footage however looks rather good still.

I'd buy those from TTW

TTW?

TTW?

The blackvue official supplier who are the ones who honour the warranties etc

Lots of useful information pinned in the Technology Shed.

Mine's a BlackVue 380G HD.  Not cheap, but installation is simple and picture quality is excellent.  It cannot be seen from the driver's seat as it is completely hidden by the rear view mirror.  It hasn't corrupted a memory card yet, but I do format it every month.

Very pleased with it.

Check the reviews very carefully and make sure it's from someone you'll find it easy to send back to.

I got a relatively cheap one but had to send it back. It actually took great footage but the power supply interfered with the radio. Luckily I'd got it via Amazon so the return was pretty straightforward.
