The road speed is taken from the ABS sensor which IME is a relatively simple job!

Nice one just need to find price and part number for it now glad uve put my mind at rest as that helps decision wether to get rid of the current mk1 vrs and upgrade to mk2 tdi lol

It's about £30 a sensor from ECP iirc

How long has the speedo not been working? maybe a idea to check stored mileage in the ecu with vcds.

Not sure good idea but im not a owner of vcds
