vcds in birmingham?

Featured Replies

Anyone with a vcds around Birmingham willing to help a fellow member out, I have messaged 5 people from the map over a month ago with no replies,

All I really want is the needle sweep :P and the lights to come on when I lock/unlock

My cars a Octy II 2005 :) thanks

Lights should come on when you unlock. It's a standard feature not a setting in VCDS as far as I know.

More like there is another cause of this issue.

I doubt needle sweep is available on a 2005 Octavia due to having older controllers fitted.

I'm in Worcester and free on Thursday early afternoons if that's any help, but I don't think you'll be able to resolve these with VCDS.

No they don't been told it's a coming home feature, and been told needle sweep can be done unsure tho,

Thanks for the offer but I work Mon - Friday 12-9

I see you now mean the exterior lights to come on when you lock/unlock!

Not possible on a 2005 Octavia AFAIK. Especially if you don't have auto lights.

You are right, it is LHL/CHL you are referring to.

You can get CHL of sorts to work. You leave the lights switched on and they automatically go off after a set time period (set with VCDS) up to 60 seconds.

I activate mine each Winter and turn it off each Spring.

You can get auto light retrofit kits from Maplin

Needle sweep can't be done on my 2006 Octavia, so I really wouldn't expect to work on your car.

If I was to buy and fit this stalk

Ebay num: 400757528289

I can get cruise control coded via vcds yes?

Depends what steering controller you have fitted at present.

It might support CC.

Have a look in the Ross Tech Wiki/website if you know what your steering controller p/n is.

I'm on the Acocks Green / Solihull border

Free on weekends?

And is there any fun things that can be done to my car as I was really looking forward to a needle sweep lol

Yes normally I'm free (except this weekend coming)

The only way to tell 100% what can be done is to plug it in and look at the options available to us.
