Replace rear caliper with new or used?

Featured Replies

One of my rear caliper has ceased and just wondering if it's worth buying a new/reconditioned or a used from a breakers as the other side is fine atm?

Can't you strip it get a rebuild kit from brake parts international they also have an eBay store

Highly highly recommended red rubber grease from Castro - friendly to rubber boots and keeps the parts free moving - I always use this stuff on brake changes

i got cupra ones for the 256mm vented discs (£65 each new) instead of the 232mm solid standard discs bolt straight on

Just want a replacement for quickness, rather than messing about rebuilding them.

Where were they from, seen new 232s for 45, just means painting the new ones. Absolute con it's double for already powder coated green ones.

i get trade from fast parts abercarn 01495 245777

I would go new / refurb, with used you have no idea how long its going to last before you end up replacing it again.

I would go new well probably refurbished from an old one. Will be cheaper than buying a second hand one only for the seals to fail in the near future
