Where are all the 'Black Edition' Octavias?

Featured Replies

I've got no idea unfortunately I work for a Trade Parts Specialist site that supplies parts to a VAG approved body shop that deals with transit damaged vehicles.

I don't suppose you could confirm if there is a shortage of Black Pack grille surrounds back1980? I have been waiting for two weeks so far for the part to arrive at the dealers without so much as an idea of when it will be delivered. Thanks.

Only just seen this I'm at work tomorrow so I'll have a look for you

Just checked Falkster and they are currently on factory back order with no ETA. Best thing you can do is contact Skoda customer services and say you've been waiting a while and they might be able to bump you up the list or get hold of one sooner. The part number is 5E0853761AF9R

Thanks back1980, that's great info and really appreciate you taking the time to look in to this. Bit concerned now that the black pack grille surround will disappear as an option. I will ring SUK and come back with an update. Cheers.

Just to revive the thread; black grille surround arrived and fitted this week. Collection of my 2.0 Moon White with black gloss roof wrap and black pack on Wednesday then a trip to get the Eibach treatment!

Have you found anywhere with the springs in stock?

Will PM you Jon.

At last, looking forward to seeing it!

Thanks Moley. Hope your vRS is running in nicely. I meant to ask you to remind me what the fitting time was for the springs? Cheers

3 hours and a bit from memory

I've been quoted a week by Simpsons Jon so I'm having the work done w/c 10th Nov. HTH

It's CSI Suffolk, needs the incident tape! Still looks well Gav if a bit lonely..

Good stuff! This could well mean stock is on it's way. I'll check this end.

Now that does look sweet, will it be the same height as a vRs when done mate, and have you picked a name ?

That's a good question Spike. Standard height as pic is 12mm higher than vRS. The springs will take mine down between 30 and 40mm so yes it will be 18-28mm lower. Bit concerned with the way the rear wheel sits in to the arch so that may have to be sorted as well...

As for a name; not sure yet, depends on whether she's reliable or not! Ha ha!

Looking good falkster, do like the roof wrap! Just fitted the Pedal Box I won on the dtuk website, results to follow!

You lucky chap Gav, fancied one of those myself. Would be very interested in your review. Yeh, roof wrap is not bad but could have been better. Had a nice surprise today when a dealer confirmed my car has multi link suspension and not torsion beam! Makes you wonder how these BE's were put together.

That means you'll need different springs doesn't it? I've not actually checked mine.

Give you any clue on how the tell the difference on the suspension set ups? Pedal box has made a hell of a difference, the car feels like it has some go about it now. Previously had a Mondeo ST TDCI and I liked the surge of torque it gave when you put your foot down, found the Octy lacking in that department but the box seems to have gone some way to compensate

Bang on jon, Eibach have suggested different springs now. The dealer has sent me a PDF with the chassis number and a diagram of the multi link. It's worth a check. TBH it's a minefield. The springs on the Eibach Website are on a 3 week plus delivery so may have to go with an alternative Eibach product.

Without the dealer PDF I wouldn't have a Scooby Gav.

Does the pedal box make enough of a difference to justify £200 though?

Still not 100% that the SE has the multi link suspension but if it has then you'll find it a far better drive. Wonder if you have the XDS then too?
