Looking for some help on identifying the rail sensor and how to remove it.

This is on a 2014 2.0 TDI 184 PS Engine.

 

I've tried applying pressure from underneath as it looks like the clip is on the underside 

Very difficult to access with large fingers - But it wont budge.

 

Any help much appreciated.

Push the plug onto the rail slightly (this will compress the rubber seal) then press the tab on the bottom of the plug and slide apart.

You just need to squeeze the clip underneath by the looks of it. Normally when I'm faced with one that won't unlatch pushing the plug onto the connector whilst pressing the clip makes it unlatch easier then just pull it off

Trying this but still not working. The tab underneath I cannot see so working blind so to speak.

When pressing it should i apply pressure at the wire end or the rail end, it feels totally solid at the wire end

with no give when I press it.

Yes push the plug on further, then the tab end (loom side) will pivot slightly towards the loom.
