How to redesign your Megane

I can't condone the fact these spectators were sitting on the outside of a corner but I am 100% certain they will choose somewhere more suitable to watch if they ever go to a rally again.

:o

Woah.

Talk about being effffing lucky.....

Jeepers!

I'll never understand why people go to the outside of a corner rather than the inside.

Jeez, as with all Motorsport be sensible and don't take the risk of being caught on the outside of a corner! Even the entrance would've been better than there :(

The roll cage took it well.

Lucky or what.

Better photos from the outside, but I wouldn't want to take the chance.

That is crazy! They were very lucky to be dodging that one.

Oh my god. How did that even miss them...

It doesnt take a lot of brains to think better of sitting on the outside of a corner though does it. Physics says, you're in for it.

Fair play to the red head sat on the wall, she barely moved

probably affected the drivers reactions instead of keeping his foot in and trying to pull it out he hit the brakes when he saw the spectators.

When I showed this to SWMBO even she said "OMG why the hell are they sitting there?" before the car appeared lol

Sitting on the outside of corners is common for rally spectators, even on the Jim Clark rally earlier this year spectators were killed, people just do not think what the consequences are of choices they make.

Noticed it in Woodpecker Rally vids too

And people wonder why we get them to move from places like that on rallies?

And invariably get abuse and threats when we do it.

Group B days have surely got to be worse?

target fixation that he seen them and couldn't resist.

From experience no.

Although there was less "penning" of spectators in those days, there were less of them out, and those that were out were generally enthusiasts, who knew the dangers. Plus if they were told to move they didn't argue about it, or get abusive. It has now got to the stage in some areas that a Police presence is needed and marshals are being assaulted and their cars damaged. I know of several Clubs who refuse to marshal in certain forests in South Wales because of these problems.

Could well be.

Target fixation is a common thing innit. Soon end up in a mess.

Yep happens to the best of us.

Holy carp!

None of this looks terribly safe to me! http://youtu.be/eYIH7ApCxoM

TAP Rally, Portugal.

Well known for the stupidity of the spectators. Often there were NO marshals on the event, other at the than stage starts and finishes.

Eventually some were unfortunately killed and things began to change.

It is a bit better there now.

I bet they won't be sitting there again
