I am selling my black magic 2009 ‘59’ reg facelift Skoda Octavia vRS with fantastic spec. I thought I would advertise it on Briskoda first prior to Autotrader and Ebay etc.

I know the vast majority of Briskodians that will read this will know the spec inside out however for those who stumble across this thread and know nothing about Skoda’s, here goes.

My car was first registered on 03/12/2009 and has the 200bhp TSI petrol engine mated to a 6 speed DSG semi-automatic gearbox with F1 style gear shift paddles on the steering wheel. If you have never driven a DSG, now is the time to try. It is unlike any other auto you will have ever driven, it is so smooth, refined and totally effortless to drive. It is virtually always in the correct gear so I normally always drive it in full automatic mode however just occasionally it’s great to put it in to sport mode and move up the gears with the paddles for an exhilarating drive.

My car has 80,661 miles on the clock (is being used so will rise slightly) and has a full service history having been serviced yearly. The car was fully serviced on 02/06/2014 and in addition, had the all-important 80,000 mile DSG oil and filter change which now doesn’t need to be done until 120,000 miles. The TSI engine is chain driven and therefore does not require a cam belt change at any point in the future.

My car has MOT until 15/02/2015 and is taxed until 31/07/2015 although this is now irrelevant with the new tax changes that came in to force on 01/10/2014.

I have the original vehicle order form which lists the factory fit optional extras which include the full black vRS leather interior which is totally unmarked and the electric tilt and slide sunroof which is great for those spring / autumn days when it’s not quite warm enough for the air con.

My car has the full maxidot trip computer, 3 spoke leather MFSW with audio, phone and maxidot controls, bluetooth mobile phone preparation with voice commands, cruise control and dual zone digital climate control with ice cold air conditioning.

Although currently retrofitted with a Columbus, my car will come as standard with the original and amazing Skoda Bolero touch screen multi media player with 8 speakers, internal 6 disk CD multi changer, SD card input, aux input for iPod / MP3 player and Traffic Information Memory function all of which works flawlessly with the integrated phone kit.

My car also has the Bluetooth / GPS shark fin aerial on the roof, 4 x electric windows; electric heated door mirrors with integrated indicator lens, air conditioned jumbo armrest, air conditioned glove box, ABS brakes and traction control.

My car also has power steering, unmarked Skoda 18” Neptune alloy wheels (refurbished in September 2013 by The Wheel Specialist in their gun metal grey colour), red callipers, premium tyres all round with around 7mm on the front (Uniroyal Rain Sport 3’s replaced in June this year) and 6mm on the rear, factory lowered suspension, tyre pressure monitoring system, airbags, rear spoiler, front fog lights, LED daylight running lights, twin chrome exhaust pipes, huge boot and alarm with interior monitoring.

My car is HPI clear and will come with a HPI certificate which will show the car has never been in an accident, has no finance outstanding and has no plate changes etc.

I have all the documents, handbooks, V5, service history and receipts all in the original Skoda folder. I also have both remote central locking keys, one of which has never been used.

This is a stunning yet practical and economical car but my commute is only 21 miles a week over 2 days and I cannot justify such an extravagance sitting on my drive for the other 5 days. I am therefore looking to swap to an older Octavia.

While I am not specifically looking to part exchange, if you have a very well spec’d petrol or non DPF diesel mark 2 auto or manual Octavia hatchback that you are selling, let me know. It would need to have climate control, cruise control and Maxidot at the very minimum so a vRS, Elegance or Laurin and Klement would be ideal. It would also need to be in good condition, sub 90k on the clock, HPI clear with service history and MOT etc. Feel free to try me with any other well spec’d VAG vehicles however I will always sway towards an Octavia.

I have priced my car at £8395 which at the time of writing according to Autotrader and eBay is the cheapest sub 90k facelift Octavia vRS in the country. I think this is a bargain because I cannot find one with a DSG box, full leather, sunroof, maxidot and phone kit anywhere in the country for any money. There are even pre facelifts out there selling for more money! With this spec on a less than 5 year old car should sell quickly on Autotrader or eBay.

I have now seen something I really like and would love to do a deal by the weekend so I would consider offers around £8249?
