Central Locking(only 3 doors locking) & Passenger Window not opening

Featured Replies

Hi All

having problem with drivers side passenger door,

Its not locking on the central locking system, all 3 other doors are, but this one remains open,

I climbed in to open one of the other doors from the inside and it set the alarm off.

Also the electric window on that door will not open or close, any advise.

regards N.P

What Model do you have?

Check the multi plug at the pillar, make sure it's fully home,

might need to scanned with VCDS a though

Broken wire between body and door or a dead control module in door. Get a VCDS scan.

thanks for the replies

car model is a 2009 Greenline,

Ric04vrs, in relation to the  (multi plug at the pillar )   will I have to remove the trim on the inside of the pillar for access? ie. this is the pilar between the two doors. thanks

GaSelle, is there a control module in each door?

Hi all, got a computer plug in done, came back with "No communication" "rear right door" I also took off the door panel on the inside of the door - no sound coming from the door module when the central locking is system is locked by the remote key.

rang the main dealer, they said it could be lock either, not convinced.

If its the module is it a straight swap with a new one (DIY JOB) or will it need to be programed by the VCDS (Main Dealer)

My gut feeling is that its the module as the power for the electric window comes from this also and thats not working either on this door.

any ideas guys

Could just as easily be a broken wire serving the module, often in the door grommet where it opens away from the body as Gaselle says. Definitely worth checking that before shelling out on a new module...

Hi guys, new to the forum and have the exact same problem happened today.......rear door behind driver isn't locking or window operating.  Did anyone manage to fix this without having to go to a dealer?

Thanks in advance

Yes, there is a module in each door. It´s combined with the window motor. But I still believe, it´s a broken wire between body and door.

Hello again,

I had a go with removing the door panel and got the multimeter to measure current,   got 12 volts at the door (multi plug), 12 volts entering the module, but 0 volts going to window motor, multimeter reading at the door lock wasn't noticeable on the screen. hence it seems like a door module.

my mate in skoda dealer says they are just plug and play. Im awaiting order of a module that has to come from Germany, €110 + the tonic.

hope this sorts it.

Just an update,

as said above it was a broken wire, but strangely it was in the drivers door. seemingly all other modules are slaves to the main one from the drivers door.

It was one of the tiny wires in these looms that seem to have no spare length in them at all. quick soldering job and it was fixed.

thanks to all for the advise
