Just fitted 3C8 035 730 D, questions...

Featured Replies

All coded up and looks to be working well with rsap and wifi (had to root my htc one m7 and install the rsap components) but I have a couple of questions:

- is it possible to get the SMS back on the phone when I finish driving?

- should it display track information when using a2dp and deezer (RNS-310 Amundsen)

For reference, the code I used was 020000010101010000000101 although I'm not sure byte 5 is correct.

The first question will be phone dependent I suspect.  Technically there is an option to copy to phone in the maxidot, but it doesn't always work.  in my case with a s3 i have to manually move it from the SIM card to the phone, and if I delete it before doing so (via the head unit or maxidot) it is gone for good. I can't answer the second question sorry.

The coding framework label file is not up to date in VCDS for this module (or it wasn't when I last looked) so it is a bit of a pain.  I seem to recall being unsure of that byte myself but the way I have coded means I have no errors and it doesn't cause any issues for me.  i'll post my coding when I get access to my pc with the logs on it.

I've managed to solve the first issue, there is a sms plugin for the rsap service that is designed to put the messages in to the sms store rather than the sim. This stopped working around android 4.0 and I'm running 4.4.4. However, as the phone was already rooted I was able to install app ops [root] https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=droidmate.appopsinstaller&hl=en and give the write sms permission back to the rsap sms plugin which has fixed it.

The sms plugin is here: http://forum.android-rsap.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=651

I changed byte 5 to 00, it's called co-operative mute or something similar and I've not seen any bad effects from the change. I think it's suppose to allow the phone to mute the stereo or something.

Yes that's what I did with byte 5 and I was not sure what it meant, but as you say no ill effects.  In fact I finally got round to checking, and we have identical coding.
