steel wheels from yeti won't fit.

I can't name and shame. They've been good to me in the past. I'll pop down to a tyre fitters next weekend to get them swapped.

I would double check with your insurer though.

It's still altering the car from what it was when it left the factory.

Too true and if you're adding non-Skoda steels or alloys the insurance company are likely to be a bit awkward.  That's understandable as there is some really dodgy quality steel and alloy out there and it will be offered at below Skoda/VAG prices.  You wouldn't (or maybe you would!) consider fitting none original brake parts and to my thinking wheel quality is just as important.

What a great site barqqsanu. I'm sure they won't be a problem now. I'm just a bit concerned about the insurance issue, being non standard for the octy 3.

I just bought the same rims as yours 7jx16 et45. I will put them on in 2 weeks.

You could still fit cheap chinese winter tyres to any rim.

Maybe insurance companies should also be asking what tyres you are fitting!

In Romania only the tyres matters. In the technical book of the car issued by the police we don't have info about the rims...and that is the official document :)...and as long as you have the recommended tyre I really don't see an issue. Cheers

I bought 4 audi 1124 speed line alloy wheel rims last year to put on my Yeti for the winter, but the Yeti and I parted company in October so I put them on my Octavia 4x4 150 tdi combi. No problems whatsoever, wheels were 7J x16H2 ET45 and tyres were 205/55/16 and they will be going back on next month. I also asked my insurance company(Allianz) if I had to inform them if I was putting winter tyres on and they said no, and this year asked Tesco  insurance the same question to which they replied no too.

I assume that the same wheel bolts fit that I have on my alloys. I used the same bolts before with the yeti.

Yes the bolts are the same for OE alloys and steels
