Full size spare

Featured Replies

My dealer tells me that he can't give me price for a spare wheel and tyre for a black edition Octavia due to them only just being released, does this sound right to you guys?

Has anyone ordered one or know the price?

surely it'd be the same price for a not black edition?

If its a VRS, there is a thread where someone on here got Skoda to put together a kit with a part number. Use search. If its not a VRS, just ask them for a kit using the reg of one of their demo cars outside :)

I was a bit surprised at the dealer saying what he did, surely the hubs are the same as other Octy3's.

If I remember right, the spare wheel kit for my Octy2 3 years ago was about £75 but that got negotiated in the car cost.

The problem with trying to search is that so many people have asked the same question without using search, there are loads of topics on the subject now  :wall: .

First one I've seen after a FULL size spare, Wigg ;)

Get them to deal it in - I did.

My Elegance has 225 45 17 alloys and the full size spare is a steel 205 55 16. I assume its a light weight steel or something as it has a big yellow 50 mph sticker on it.

It isn't it is a standard wheel

BUT

because it is a different profile tyre it is officially a temporary spare wheel and restricted to 50mph

205/55 16

225/45 17

225/40 18

are all the same circumference basically within a couple of percent.

.............and it won't fit the Vrs version due to bigger brakes on the front

With my old 2005 Fabia when new' it too had the correct on-the-road sized tyre as the alloys, but fitted to a steel wheel.

The steel wheel is more narrow so did not sit high in the wheel well, and had the yellow speed restriction sticker.

I bought a spare alloy and placed the spare tyre onto it without any problem.

But as stated wheel sat about 1 - 2 inches higher than the original steel wheel.

Suggest try out one of your road wheels to see how it sits in the wheel well to give you some idea??
