Seat Cordoba Reception problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

Someone at my work has a Seat Cordoba Vario TDI ('98)

The radio reception is pretty bad, and he was advised it may be something to do with a booster in the little stubby arial on the roof?

Is there anything he can do himself to try and address this?

He is also considering an aftermarket radio but due to the reception problems he is currently holding off on that.

Looking forward to some tips :) Thanks :)

The ariel is fed power by the HU and there's a booster built in. If this fails you end up with crap reception.

Thanks :)

Let's say he wants to replace the OEM HU with an aftermarket job - would he have to replace the antenna as well, or not?

Thanks :)

No you can buy an inline aerial amplifier thingy - I sold one about a month ago on this forum and somebody else was selling one at the same time - could check back to see if he still has it
