LED bulbs

Featured Replies

Not sure where exactly to post this, so please move if in wrong place. I have some led bulbs fitted for sidelights. I have a strange fault that the o/s bulb goes off after a few seconds with ch or lh settings. But is fine if switched on manually. How can I fix this?

What do you mean by switched on Manually?

Do you have automatic on Sidelights.

(sorry not familiar with your car model.)

Do you not always switch on Sidelights manually by putting on a switch /Lights.?

Are these Bulbs being used as DRL's and coming on automatically with the ignition. and only the front,

not as Sidelights, lit front and rear and number plate at the rear.

Hi yer I have auto lights. If the lights come on when I unlock the car in the dark. The bulb goes out. Means I have to switch from auto lights to off then back to auto. It will then be ok

Sounds very strange.

Is this the same with both sides?

If not, swap them around and see what happens?

No only the passenger side. I have tried swooping bulbs around and makes no difference

Is it still the passenger side when youve swapped the bulbs?

Yes it is. It's as if it's not getting enough power. But fine with a standard w5w / 501 bulb

Right from looking on Google. Before the ignition is switched on the bulb only gets a small amount of power to light up. With it being LED as it draws a small amount of power the car thinks it's duff so turns it off. The answer is too fit these http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/281410763586?nav=SEARCH

That isn't the answer. That's the bodge.

I know the answer is to remove and fit standard bulbs as said before

Wont they just be a resistor though?

If youve already bought 'canbus error free' LEDs then they'll have a resistor built in.

I dont think thats your problem.

Yer they are canbus friendly. I dunno as that's what I found on an Audi forum
