Replacing high break light

Featured Replies

Some of the diodes on my superb estate high break light don't light up, can i replace only the bad diodes or do I have to replace the whole thing?

A lot of the time it's not the diodes that have failed at all. The solder joints to the diodes is where the failure is, so if you can open it up and remelt the solder joints with a soldering iron they may all work again without the need for any spare parts at all.

Awesome, easiest way to remove it?

I've never opened one of these unfortunately. It looks like there are load of clips along the edges, so some careful work with a screwdriver on the clips while using something that won't mark the visible plastic like a credit card to hold the gap between the lens and the backing open as you go from clip to clip might work. If it's glued or ultrasonically welded then all bets are off however... Hopefully someone on here has had a go at this.
