Just seen the TV News item on Takata Airbags and it set me wondering whether Skoda have ever used them?  Does any body know the answer, please?

What exactly have you seen?

I've done a quick google search but i can only find US related articles.

Where are you?

Sounds like they've taken Clarkson's advice to heart. Have an accident and the airbag will explode shrapnel through your chest.

Just seems to be in the US. I guess it's due to the larger airbags they fit since seatbelts aren't compulsory.

He says sneaking off to get his VIN

don't run.. you might trip fall and set the airbag off killing you before you get a chance to check the vin :D

I bet more people have had their wrists snapped by deploying air bags.  When you're next out for a drive see how many drivers are driving with their arms directly over the air bag.

This made me have a thought.

I bet it hurts when you punch yourself in the face at around 150mph

Or in the summer the number of people, especially young women, with the feet up on the dash.

Even if the air bag isn't deployed you'd be looking at broken hips in an accident!!

Or maybe youd shoot through the window, slide down the bonnet and land on your feet? Happy days?

Or have i been waiting too much tele again

Lots of woman seem to sit extremely close to the steering wheel, my wife for one as she is a short person. Dangerous really.

I'm sure I read years ago (auto express?) about airbag injuries. And broken fingers and noses from people picking their noses at impact are amazingly common. Iirc it was in the top 3!

all this reminds me, I've got one sat in the garage I've been meaning to set off in the field :D

I'll look forward to it then ;).

For added points, you could put it under a chair whilst somebody you arent fond of sits on it...

I told my missus the same thing... her answer was along the lines of

"but i wont crash so it wont go off..."

I have always admired her optimism,,,,

My mum sits really close to the wheel n she is worried about what would happen in the event of a crash.

The problem is, shes 5 foot 2. So she either sits close or she doesnt drive.

Theres cats with longer legs than her.
