Springs

Afternoon (first post). I'm going to test drive a vRS soon at my local dealer Brookalnds Rugby. I wasn't initially sold on the type but from what I read, it sounds like a good compromise all round. Added to that an ODB remap can add all that power

Thought fitting springs without upgrading the shocks too was a no-no ? Doesn't it wreck the ride ?

I've been thinking bout doing just the springs but some "knowledgeable" people way up here in the Northern wastes reckon that would be bad.... :confused:

For me the job isn't worth doing without the full setup, the fronts are a real pain and if you are going to pay someone to do the job for you then it's a false economy. Not so bad if, like me, you can do it yourself - still a ballbreaker though.

That said, some people are running just springs on here and report good results but I wonder if that's compared to standard and without trying the full setup. I ran just springs on a Saxo VTS and it was incredibly harsh.

By just doing springs you will reduce the life of the standard setup.

This is definately the next thing im gonna do to... :-)

The magazine AutoMotor and Sport did A test with the Fabia RS.

The maximum power is 144bhp and not 130bhp in A standard Fabia.

Here is A video clip from Sweden with my friends Fabia when he got the second best time in A superstage against other Ocatvia and Fabia.

Top speed for him in the clip was 106mph.

The springs will work ok with the standard dampers, but the set does 'belong' together for a reason, and the standard dampers will be stressed a lot more as their used range is reduced by about an inch. They'll work fine, just not for as long I suppose.

As I'm gonna end up paying for the labour anyway, I'm gonna drop both on at the same time, rather than doing it in two goes.
