Hi, this has probably been asked before but can I swap my Stream MP3 for a Bolero? Is it a straight swap and will I still be able to use my aux port? This is for a 2008 Octavia vRS.

Should be a straight swap with everything still working afterwards.

 

Your car is borderline for having the can gateway which could lead you with battery drain. If you can, get your car scanned with VCDS before buying and post the result here. The scan will reveal if you need to replace the CAN gateway or not.

2008 will almost certainly be fine for the gateway.

Straight swap, although the fascia / surround may be a different shape aperture for the front plate of the head unit.

Yes, but before you buy one check that your current one doesn't fit.

My hunch is that it will be OK, but I'll not guarantee it.

Thanks again. I did look at aftermarket systems but decided to stay with original. I've had the car for 2.5 years and am now starting to look at some upgrades.
