What do you think?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

I've ordered a new VRS in January this year for delivery on the 15th November, it's to replace my current superb elegance 170 which in honesty has been the best car I've ever had and I've tried most brands.

The dealer has rung to say it's at the port and will be with them this week. The question I have having read loads of stuff on here about waiting times etc is my car likely to be a MY15 car or 14 as are they likely to have built it ages ago as I've had a couple of options?

Obviously when I ordered the car in January I was expecting to get what I had ordered by now they come with a few more toys etc which I rather like the sound of and I don't want to be disappointed all be it selflessly if it's a 14 car when it appears.

What do you rekon?

If its only just en route to the dealer, my money would be on a MY15 as I don't think they store them after leaving the factory, it sounds like your dealer got the timing spot on by holding back the order based on estimated build week.

Yep, it will be a MY15 (cars built between Wk22 and Wk44), whereas MY15.5 is from BW45 (next week) onwards.

Your dealer will be able to tell you from the chassis number, the giveaway will be if you have cruise control as standard.

That's for the reply, I've got the chassis number but it means nothing to me?

This might help.  Digit 10 should be 'F' if it's a MY 15

Hi, 10th digit is actually 1 but the 11th digit F TMBBKE7NE1F002458 possibly the dealer has got the chassis number written down wrong.

Quite possible.  Check the code on your Superb and/or any other vehicles you might have to be sure. Mine's an E so a 2014 model.

That's an idea, never thought of that... Checked the Superb and the 10th digit is C (2011 61) so I reckon the dealers given me the wrong chassis number but at least it has F in it so we will see on the 15th?

Seeing as many like myself who ordered prior to you in December 2014 received MY15 models, I'd be very surprised if yours isn't MY15!

Flat bottom steering wheel will be the giveaway, and whether or not it has the vRS badge on the wheel will tell at what point during the MY15 run it was produced (although they may retro fit this when they PDI the car).

I'd say worry not!

I'm on for BW47 so it seems I'll have a MY15.5 car. Anyone know how it will differ from a MY15? (It's a vRS Estate)

Andy,

Where do you get your information from to enable you to be so precise with build week changes and also what does the MY stand for unless it is "make year" ?

Lastly and probably more important what is the source to know what changes are made from one build reference to another as anDJ asks ?

I got mine 12 wks ago and was a My15

Don't tell those waiting over 9 months, getting delivery before you ordered was some going!
