Maxsport winter tyres

OIC

That makes sense.

I still have nightmares about having to pay for a Subaru to be towed from a bush track because one of the guys sold them tyres for the front that were different from the rear & it locked up the centre diff.  It was equivalent to double the tyre fitters weekly pay.

Hi chaps,I have got my self a set of Audi wheels to go on my octavia mk2 estate 225x45x17 5x112 7.5 wide but with an et of 56 I was told that the et should be 45 to 52 dose this mean I will need spacers ? If so how thick would thay have to be ?

And has anyone els upgraded there 195x65x15 steels to this type of wheel and tyre ? And where there any problems ?

Cheers kev.

A larger offset will push the wheel further from the hub so closer to the outer edge of the wheel arch.  Spacers will push the wheel even further out!.

I don't think an extra 4 (56 - 52) on the offset will matter.

ET56 brings the edge of the rim closer to the strut. ET35 would give more outward poke.  (I agree, it's counter-intuitive)

I've run 7.5 ET52 and there was still plenty of room between tyre & strut so the extra 5mm of ET56 shouldn't be an issue.

You are, of course, correct.  I misread the diagram on the following web-site:

http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=225&aspect=45&diameter=18&wheelwidth=7.5&offset=45&width2=225&aspect2=45&diameter2=18&wheelwidth2=7.5&offset2=56

just input the tyre/wheel dimensions and the results are shown diagrammatically.

Anyone know where I can get 68mm skoda center caps so I can replace the Audi ones that the wheels have got on them now ?

Cheers kev.

My last 2 sets of rims have been Audi and I just buy a cheap set of decals off eBay and stick them on.  Close up it looks half-baked but any more than a metre away it looks factory.
