New and soon to be Yeti owner

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I am new to the forum and to Skoda, collect my 2012 Yeti 1.2 TSI Urban on Thursday and have to say i was a bit dubious with this small engine before i tried it but i love it and the room is ideal for my 2 dogs .

I did like the L&K but a bit out of my reach at the moment next time maybe  :D

No doubt i will have plenty of questions once i have taken delivery, seems like there is lots of info and help here.

I intend to cover the boot with the Hatchbag liner, anyone here use this in the Yeti? Or is there a better choice?

cheers for now

Welcome to Briskoda :sun:

Good choice on the Urban , they look great.

The hatchbag gets good reviews on here and in the MkII Octavia forum so I'm sure you'll have no issues!

You could also look at the Over-The -Top boot liner. I bought this rather than the Hatchbag (although I'd always been happy with Hatchbags for previous cars). Had it about a year and still no regrets - standing up well to my Golden Retriever. Does much the same job as a Hatchbag but with a bit more elegance (but at a cost!!).

Picture at post 5 on the second thread.

Just something to think about but before you order any made-to-measure boot liner you need to make the decision about whether you are going to have a spare wheel or not - lots of debate on the pros and cons of this elsewhere. With a spare wheel you lose boot space but get a floor level with the lip of the opening. Without it there is a drop of several inches into the boot well. My Goldie is a tall girl for the breed, getting on and has severe arthritis in her feet and spine and so she needs help getting in and out. A level floor makes things much easier for me so was an essential when I was looking around and the spare wheel option therefore was a no-brainer for me. With Cockers being smaller and lighter to lift around it may not be an issue for you. (I'll know soon enough -  we've rescued a two year old. Any idea when can I expect the brain to kick in?

Good point you make there Paul, i havent had a spare for the last 3 yrs on my Honda Civic, just the gunk and compressor.

I'll have to have a browse at prices of the space .saver kit.

As for your Cocker, expect liveliness for a good many years :D  But they are great fun, mine is only 19mths old.

Our older lab does get tired of his antics sometimes though. :notme:

A complete new kit is a bout £250. I haggled a bit and got the VAT taken off so it were £200.

Actually this figure is £10 cheaper than the price before adding VAT.

At the time there were none for sale second hand.

Have you picked the car up yet?

Yes mate, today is my 4th day with it and i am loving it  :D  Lovely to drive and so much room.

I'll try and get a pic up of it with it's resident spaniel later.
