Rear caliper, wobble between caliper and carrier

Featured Replies

Putting this in Octy 1 section as relates to their stock brakes

Have a pair of 256mm calipers/carriers.  I noticed one of the calipers had a slight bit of play in the movement between caliper and carrier.  There's two sliding bits on them, and the other one had no play at all.  Is a bit of play end of for said caliper, or is it something which can be refurbed? :)

Just a bit of play in the sliders I reckon, sadly it will probably cause the thing to squeal a bit in use.

They didn't squeal when I drove it I must admit, but the play is there none the less.  If it can't be fixed I will probably end up throwing it away. :(

Don't throw it away :D

Because the moment you launch it, some bloke will stick a thread up with the title "Wanted: broke/seized rear caliper, doesn't matter if there is play in the sliders"...
