Yes, that was with some of Tescos Finest Unleaded. It had a few litres of regular 95 sloshing around in there already, so another tank and it will all be pure again. I forgot to retrieve my Brisky badge, so if anyone ends up looking at a black FL vRS 2.0TSI estate CA12 KVD with a brisky sticker in the window, then you know where it came from.

Stever,

Glad to read that you are having some fun already and that the missus (to be)is enjoying her new wheels also.

Ongoing Review after a few weeks please, with hopefully a report on the Winters performance when fitted.

Sounds brill.

Same as the polo GT isnt it?

Latest Polo Blue GT has 150 hp. I guess the A1, Ibiza, etc. will get the uprated unit soon. 110g's/km means only £20 a year to tax too.

I picked mine up last week and very nice it is too, though due to a dealer error, I'll be getting another new one in March next year!

Pleased you like it.

Was that with 99 ron minimum petrol in the tank,?

it makes a fair difference.

Please keep updated on the 1.4 TSI ACT as well.

Interestingly, over at seatcupra.net this is not the general thinking. Most seem happy with regular 95. I'm assuming worst case is that no significant performance improvement, and a marginal improvement in economy, but another 3 mpg yields just over another 30 miles per tank ~ worth a gallon roughly, which is approx £5, and if my man maths is right, the difference in filling up a tank at 5p/litre is around £2.50 then it's worth the additional premium, but onbly at 2-3+ mpg.

55 litres @ 5 pence extra is is £2.75 more for Tesco Momentum 99. (Minimum)

& Shell V-Power Nitro (99 ron minimum) might be £5.50 extra.

less than the Price of 1 gallon.

It is worth its weight regardless of if you get 30 miles more from a tank.

(which in normal UK NSL driving you very likely will.)

You bought a performance car, you were and are think about tuning,

Why would you not pay the Price of a Filling Station Coffee extra per fill up.?

Are you an Economy Driver & Hypermiler,

or just someone that wants a car to perform efficiently.

Or less efficiently on Regular Unleaded.

(UK Super Unleaded from Sainsbury, ESSO, BP is 97 RON Minimum)

On 102 RON Fuel it will even be better. (Or 100 + Ron Mainland Europe Petrol.)

Worth treating it some day to 'Hiperflo 250' 102 RON and see how it performs,

I can tell you where you can see the difference.

With a APR Remap & Switchable MAP / Control, for 95, 98/99 or higher.

Easy to do your own testing over time.

You know where and how you drive, and the seasons etc.

& then on a Dyno / Rolling road when Remapping, do before and afters or different fuels.

If it was remapped 99 is a no brainer. Std it's a slightly different proposition.

What does the Owners Hand Book say.?

What shows on the Filler Lid?

All EU Cars must be capable of Running on Regular 95 RON.

The Manuals for VWG might show 95 RON.

& others might have the 'Prescribed Fuel' as 'Super Unleaded 98 ron'.

I really can not believe that anyone drives a VW Performance engine on the Minimum Fuel available,

even using it as a Commuter & run around..

Best Fluids & Tyres just seems to be the natural way to go.

But each to their own.

The label on my filler flap states "95 RON (98)"

That's all. So long as there is a benefit of some kind, be it economy or performance, I'm happy the spend the extra. No benefit = pointless. Remember, the bum dyno can be incredibly sensitive ;)

To me the story is,

The Designers, Engineers & Technicians built them to perform best on the good stuff.

The Corporate Seniors & Publicity / Media department want them to appear Sporty but Economical & Green,

and they do not want anyone to think that they need anything other than the regular (cheaper) fuel.

Other wise why would the VWG have you look a bit to find mention on Fuels, having nothing mentioned obviously in the Brochures,

but they do publish the likes of in that link.

Winter Fuel & even some Super Unleaded is very nice on Mainland Europe compared to the over priced (Taxed)

stuff that the UK gets.

George, you're leaving to the converted. I'm off to fill up with v power :)

Personally I would not & do not pay £2.50 more a tank to Royal Dutch Shell that do not publish their Formulations than i do to Tesco.

It is not worth the difference over the Momentum IMO.  & IME.

(Secret Detergents & Additives are likely  nothing much more than Sodium.)

Tesco was broken the eve. I think though that V power s slightly better than momentum. Purely subjective bit them I think tesco are even more stupid.

Any reason why V-Power from Royal Dutch Shell, should be better than Momentum produced by Greenergy?

They share the Importation Facilities in the UK, and many other things, Transportation and the likes.

Both 99 RON Minimum.

Nope. Like the fuel itself, it's all mostly in your head.
