Monte Carlo Wheels

Featured Replies

I'll be taking delivery of my new MC in the nest few weeks.

I am touring with the idea of getting a larger set of rims straight away.

How much do you think the standard wheels and tyres would fetch?

Thanks

Tim

It depends on the buyer. They are a £550 upgrade on an SE (including spare wheel). So I'd probably start at 450 and see if you can find somebody ordering an SE? But it always depends how long you want to wait! Which alloys are you thinking of getting?

Thanks for the reply.

I'm thinking of Team dynamics Pro race 3 in Black. 17"

Nice! I like these personally; although only 16" and expensive!

I know I like them also, from the sound edition.

Have you got a link to them please?

How about some retro Borbet wheels in 16'', refinished in matt black?  That's what i'm thinking for mine that i get in 3 weeks :-)

Do new sets of aftermarket wheels affect insurance? (IE, are they some with need to be declared and also do they raise premium? Bare in mind I'm a 19 year old, and most insurers are still at the stage where they associate me with spotty oiks doing handbrake turns in Asda carpark).

I asked my insurers (LV) about changing the wheel colour, they said "it won't matter so long as the WHEEL SIZE doesn't change" I'm 20

So does this mean if I buy aftermarket alloys at 14", same size as I currently have, it should be okay if I ask my insurers? :-D

When I went from 15,s to 17,s on my Octavia my insurance company charged me £45 extra for the year even though they were OEM rims [emoji57]

It's a possibility, but don't know as mine stayed factory

Hmm. Don't want to have to pay more per month, will maybe have to phone and ask.

The car rides and handles brilliantly on the standard rims - why change the? Harsher ride?
