Redline error

Featured Replies

I wouldnt waste your energy and time (unless you really want to) its too trivial to matter.

Does your car not have a rev counter on the dash anyway? the pid revs are a) not in my field of vision to be concentrating - especially if you are worried about redlining and therefore going fast

B) so laggy its behind anyway.

Yes ours does have the rev counter on the dash. however its more of a challenge to get this correct. Time after time the manufacturers change things and don't sort out all the little issues they create e.g. Microsoft. For me its the point that it should be correct. Yes its a minor niggle but it wrong and needs sorting.

Mine red lines at 4K too. I'm not bothered as I don't use that function anyway and apparently mines a diesel too :)

i tested mine at the weekend, the pid at least works as expected and goes to 6k before the rev limiter kicks in.

Well the dealer had our Citigo in today and sorted the red line problem.

It turns out the radio coding was set incorrectly.

All that needed doing was to code the fuel type (0 = Petrol, 1 = Diesel & 2 = CNG) in the adjustment channel 7 with ODIS.

And the nice thing was it was all done under warranty. So if anyone else has the problem get on down to your dealer for a free adjustment.

excellent! I shall try and remember that for next time its in for a service. well done on the perseverance.
