Maxidot Stuck

Featured Replies

Having recently upgraded the firmware on the Columbus I needed to use the sat nav and phone at the same time. But when maxidot shows sat nav I can't change to anything else?

Also how do I get speed cameras on the Columbus?

Hi mate

I think you have an older Columbus on FW4024 don't you?  If so you probably need to install the Skoda Columbus (RNS 510) Fix to fix maxidot issues after firmware upgrade.  See here: http://www.my-gti.com/3374/volkswagen-rns-510-firmware-upgrade-and-information (4020_fix_sk.rar).

For the cameras on newer firmware and maps, it should be a simple load from SD card (see setup menu and either maps or navigation I think).  There is a database of camera POIs (I have it somewhere but my laptop is currently not firing up since my daughter borrowed it for college grrr), so Google is probably your best bet.

Cheers Adam. Can I load this fix via SD card or CD? Does it remove maps?

The fix has to be loaded from CD, it is in effect a modified firmware which swaps a number of files which cause the maxidot to crash.

Speed cameras are loaded from SD card, but you'll need a third party tool.

Ahh right not a simple download and install then

I thought it was a download and load via SD card, but I may be confusing with more general POIs.  Perhaps the cams were built into my maps pre installation....
