Also new battery

" fault codeG250" - This isn't a fault code.  What was the full fault please? :)  Was it correlation error?  Short/open to +/ground?

00816 sorry steering angle sensor that's all he told me

yeah, that's the duff sensor fault I think - essentially no signal coming from it, so thinks its disconnected.  Was the sensor replaced with a new genuine item?  Was the wiring checked from the sensor to the plug on the pump? :)

Sensor came of a skoda breaker he was stripping the car and said the steering worked so goin on is word it's got power to the pump and that's pumping fluid round he tested the power to the angle sensor had 2 lives and a earth he says can only be the rack but has no leaks or anything

Well, if that fault doesn't come back then I guess the sensor is OK but I wouldn't fancy a 2nd hand item on something like that.  Sounds like you may need the actual rack then.  If that doesn't cure it, then something is odd as you will have changed the whole system....  I recently fitted vRS complete setup for power steering to my non vRS Fabia, and it simply worked perfectly once it was all fitted, plugged in, and PAS fluid topped up.

That fault won't clear with the sensor I've fitted think this cars been round abit with this fault as signs of lots of messing around with angle sensor and pump maybe I've bought a dodger sensor I'll have to buy a new sensor and stop scrimping see if it solves the problem. Steering does work some times but only left turn would it work at all if the rack had gone

I at least thought with the pump pumping fluid around it would give some kind of assist but it's like turning a tank lol

to be sure I would want rack, sensor and pump from a vRS and no other model.  I don't think I can assist any more.  You will be amazed at how careful you need to be with scrapyard bits.  Compatability is so key and you can have the same part from a car slightly older/newer and it will not be suitable.

have you rechecked fault codes since you fitted new sensor?  if PAS still not working there should be a fault code again once old G250 related fault is cleared, and the car ran again.

See ino this sensor has been changed before I got it so I don't really have a part number or anything and don't want to try match the 1 what came with the car because I dont no if it's genuine part are all vrs g250 sensors same that's what a need to find out ano they 3 different power steering pumps but not sure with the sensor
