That sounds about right as mine with similar spec came in at £26,500.

How does it compare to the configurator price for similar / is it what you actually want?

I would be happy paying it, but I would be asking for more off too. What can they say? Question is would you be happy paying that? if yes then snap it up. I promise you will be able to find a cheaper one.....but just how hard you will have to look is another question.

I paid

VRS Tdi saloon

Lazer White

Tinted windows

Colour Maxi dot

Heated headlight wash

For £19,750.0

My view for what its worth.

  • Your mk2 can only be a couple of years old and still in warranty
  • Your mk2 must have been significantly cheaper than what the mk3 is going for (better value for money)
  • You've just had your mk2 serviced
  • £24.5k for any car is a lot of money
  • Play the dealer at their own game and don't pay for the extras on the mk3, they won't give you the extra at trade in time
  • Mk3 price doesn't sound a bargain to me
  • This mk3 sounds a wee bit like my mk2 Blackline which I got new for slightly more than £18k

You can see where I am going with this!

Was not sure on the price, as when a salesman is chasing you around the showroom, it is hard to know if it really is a deal.

But TBH not even sure I would stick with Skoda, think an Audi S1 at the same sort of money would be more fun and much quicker or even go sensible money Fiesta ST2 route, I got offered for £16.5k otr brand new as a guide did not even start negotiating.

Just feel the vrs is capable but not very exciting and do not need all the room now, so a step down in size is an option.

Will you be part ex'ing your mk2 - If so the only thing that counts is the cost to change?

Spec is £22,086 at buyanewcaronline if I clicked the right options...but you would have a wait of a few months..

Looks like they are trying to charge you a premium for avoiding the loooooong waiting lists for factory orders

octavia's and the vrs are just too bloody expensive now.

PM me about your mk2 if you decide to sell [emoji106]

The new VRS is indeed pricy. It's still on my list as an option for replacing my mk2 next year. But seriously considering a c250 as monthly it's the same ballpark.

I would like my next car to be a c class estate, could be tempted by a c200 even. The combined mpg figure for the petrol is the same as my diesel mk2 vrs so assuming the true mpg is the same it could actually be a little cheaper to run fuel wise. Theres also a few c200's creeping into the merc dealers 2nd hand at the min. Petrol is also a good bit cheaper than the diesel too.
