Engine Wobble When Using Clutch - No Noise

Featured Replies

I was looking a Roomster 1.9 TDI manual for someone yesterday (reg: PKZ 3600 if anyone knows its history) and the only thing we found that was of significant concern was when we were driving downhill, using the clutch made the engine wobble. There was no noise, but even the person I was was, who knows little about cars, noticed that when they were changing gear it sort of lurched. Its very hard to describe, but I tried pumping the clutch a few times while going downhill and you could feel that a lot more was moving than should be. I could feel no typical symptoms of DMF failure on it.

Anyone have any ideas as to what it could be?

I'd check the engine/gearbox mountings.

From my recent re-map visit to Darkside, they said the 105bhp 1.9tdiPD in the Roomster has a Single Mass Flywheel; I'd searched their parts website, there didn't appear to be a Sachs DMF replacement for this engine in this vehicle.

So that's one less possibility. But yes, I'd agree with Bryan B.

I didn't know they had a SMF out of the factory, that's certainly a bonus.
