Wheel Sizes

Featured Replies

I picked up a Polo for my son yesterday and it came with nice alloys plus the original steelies with four good tyres. I have nowhere to store them and no real need for them so just wondering if the wheels (ET35 5x112 14inch) fit a Fabia and if there is a potential market on here to make him a few quid?

Please note I am Freedom so this is a genuine question rather than an attempt to flout the rules we see so often.

Thanks in advance

Adam

Are you sure on the PCD of 112 x 5,   & that they are not 100 x 5  ?

It surprised me but yes 112 - read it off the wheel...

Have you tried putting one of the Steel Wheels onto the Polo to see if they fit?

They do fit the Polo but I went and had another look given it didn't seem likely to be 112, and what I thought was 112 on the wheel rim was in fact H2 - my old eyes are obviously getting worse!  I measured and it is in fact 5x100 so pretty standard, and I presume appropriate for a Fabia??

They fit at least non-VRS MK1 Fabias.

Cheers guys.

Tyres are 165/70/14

The 5Jx14 ET35 rim is approved for all marks of Fabia including the new Mk III, however it's only suitable for the smallest capacity engines due to brake disk size.

Thanks

I think only the HTP's will take the 14's wont they?

Even the 1.2 tsi has bigger brakes iirc?

Yup, I've got a set lying about too which are no use with bigger brakes

That makes sense as they came from a 55bhp Polo which is a similar spec engine to the HTP I believe.

Just double checked and the TSI 86 and TDI 75/90 will also take these rims, as they have the same front discs and FSIII callipers as the HTP 70. However I think they would be more suited to at least 15" rims.

Thanks again.  I have put them up in the classifieds but I'm thinking I may need to revert to eBay given the limited market...

I sold a set of 14s quickly on here last year. There are lots of Mk1 drivers out there.
