Pollen Filter

Featured Replies

Doing a job on the car yesterday and glanced under the scuttle to see there is no cover on the pollen filter. Should there be one? My Toledo used to have like a rubber lid with a channel to help keep water away, but it was a bit closer to the bulk head. This used to be the type of thing that's easily forgotten to refit, wonder if its gone astray..

There is a 'frame' which it sits in which clips into the housing, not sure if its this which youre mentioning though.

Our mkI Leon has the rubber bit on the front of the top piece, my old mkI Octy didn't have one. The scuttle panel is a different shape which is why I assume they are different.

Yeah its clipped into the housing - all good, but no 'lid' as trundle says the layout is a bit different and the housing seems to be away from immediate danger from water, it just looks a little exposed. If no one has ever seen one, guess its all good! Cheers

The Leon has the little "door" in the scuttle panel to access the filter, so I assume the rubber flap may be to stop water that comes in round the door from landing on the filter. Its a lot easier to change than on the octy.

Ah yeah the Toledo had that flap which was screwed in with some plastic rivets, so yeah, makes sense. And yes indeed, the Toledo one also appears to be somewhat easier to get at.

No cover, there is an extra bit on the underside of the scuttle panel that catches the drips and takes them off to the side though so make sure that is on the panel and not "lost" if you ever have the windscreen replaced :D

Cheers for that, think its the original screen but I'll take a look.
