Brake disk advice....

Hey ho...

Its that time again... Brake pads low.. ( Light not on yet.. but was about to ) .... Front discs need replacing, as do rear brakes...

I've been running standard disks with Pagid FR and have been happy ( except 4 the dust ).... I have put my 5000 mile set of EBC Greenstuff back in

until I make a decision on the disk replacement.

Pagid pad without sensor had started to crack from the metal backing...

I'm generally happy with the performance of the brakes.. apart from the

dreaded cold wet disc syndrome when I'm on the Mway...

I have been considering ATE Powerdisc's + Pagid FR combo..

with standard rear setup replacement...

What do you all think.. Any alternative suggestions, recommendations

or bad experiences with Powerdiscs?

cheers

Ideally I'd be happy to replace with standard discs... But one of the main issues I would like to hopefully fix with this replacement is to eliminate the

cold wet disk / pad film that I suffer from when on the Motorway...

As I'm not likely to do any track days then fade in fast road conditions has

not been an issue with the Pagid FR pads...

Has anyone run on ATE Powerdiscs? any issues etc...

EBC grooved disks ( I take it these are plain and then a grooved on request? )

cheers

I believe so..got them for Sejoc....who apparently don't do this kind of product anymore. :(

I have just the grooved on the fronts but DS2500 all round.....stops very well and I don't get that... "where's the brakes  "... feeling when it's raining.

I'm running ATE Power Discs and Pagid Fast Road pads on my Octy vRS for at least 10K miles, and they're very good (MUCH better than standard). They seem they same as standard when cold, but once they're warm, takes a good 10-15% of stopping distance (non-scientifically speaking, of course).

I think the groove in the ATE's also helps to get rid of water in the wet, meaning the breaks function that bit better (stomach used to end up in my throat before when I'd been cruise-controlling in the wet and had to use the breaks).

I'd recommend them and the price was right (pads and discs cost me around
