Fabia Vrs Rear Leg Room

Featured Replies

Hi all. I am considering downsizing from my octavia vrs tfsi to a fabia vrs but I would like to know peoples thoughts on rear leg room. I would still need to have my 2 kids (7 & 3) in the back and with me at 6'2" I don't know if it would be cramped for them. Any help/thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

They would be ok, for a short while.

With you being 6ft+ I guess your chair is set far back?

I'm 5'11 amd have to move my chair forwards on the very odd occasion I have someone in the back as leg room is tight.

In my octavia its set quite far back but not all the way. Wouldn't like to downsize and then struggle for space or for them to be uncomfortable.

They will be fine - my two have been ok for the last 3 years.

But now my youngest is  11, there isn't much room for him in the back behind a passenger.

I would now ideally upgrade to a bigger car!

I've got a ten and eleven year old and space in the rear is becoming tight.

Im 6'0 and my brothers who's 6'2 had no problems behind me on a 120 mile journey to wembley in September?. Personally i think leg room shouldn't be a problem with children your age.

If the octavia interior is the size of a passat or A6 then the fabia will seem very cramped.

As Gazedd says:

Going from an Octavia down to a Fabia will be a noticeable reduction in space front and back.

I don't think it will be a problem for another few years for your kids though, unless they grow at a ridiculous rate.

I am in the same boat as you albeit slightly different as I own both cars. To all those non-believers out there. Octavia mk2 to Fabia mk1 is definitely less room front and back. I have a 6 and 3 year old and the octavia gives a lot of room. What people need to remember is when children are on boosters at this age their legs are usually horizontal more than vertical at the knees. Hence the feet in the back problems the driver with the seat further back for comfort will face . The other biggie for me is the fact the high back boosters take up a lot of space and the seat belt buckle for both outer seats in the rear are hidden behind the boosters so you have to angle the seat to buckle them in. The Octavia is more than generous in this area too. I chose not to use the Fabia for kids, but occasionally it's unavoidable; it's fine for short journeys.
