Wet Passenger Footwell

Featured Replies

Has anybody else had this?

Whenever there is some heavy rain the front passenger footwell on my Octavia (09 reg) fills up with water.  It then spreads to the rear passenger footwell.  If you push down on the carpet with your foot or a hand it is like pushing down on a soaked sponge.  Using an aquavac I have sucked up many litres of water.  There is no visible sign of how this water is gathering under the carpet.

The garage has replaced the front passenger door seal so this is not at fault.  Can anybody suggest what it might be?

Ive got a bit of the same at the moment. Sounds like possibly the usual skoda/VAG problem of the seal in the door itself going between the outer and inner panels.

Have you checked its not coming through the pollen filter above the passenger footwell?

Check the underside of the car, I had a Peugeot missing a couple of round rubber/plastic bungs on the underside behind the front wheel.

Water used to travel the length of the channel and soak the area under the rear seat!

Sometimes leaks and such seem to defy logic, or at least require some amount of imagination.

Do you have a sunroof on it?
