Hey there fellow citigoers!

Been offline for a while due to some serious work schedule issues leaving me very little spare time but it is just starting to ease up again in the run up to christmas so now i can start becoming more involved again and start actually planning/ putting into action my plans for my citigo so maybe you guys could help me out or just bring me up to speed on whats been brought out recently for us. Would love to hear from all of you about how your own projects are going and if you can help with any of the points below i would be much obliged

I am extremely interested in where you get the boot storage cover from and how much it is

Any tips on headlight tinting- are there companies out there that do it for you or is it easy enough to do it yourself?

anybody found some reliable bulbs to change over to ya know like bright white bulbs that actually stay alive?

Does anyone know anything about extended wheel arches because in the long run i am extremely interested in making a project out of this car and this includes the wheel arches being extended with some yet to be decided different alloys.

Custom exhausts? Have they brought one out made to fit the citigo yet or are we still looking at a custom fab?

Anything else you think i may find useful is more than welcome

many thanks

Craig

I have some headlight tint in smoke grey that will be put on mine soon.

Is headlight tint legal for road use?

Is headlight tint legal for road use?

Fly eye/darkened tinting is legal for front and back lights.

Yellow is also road legal for front lights.

Anything else, (like blue), no.

Light tinting is easy to do yourself, it's like any other vinyl application. If you get it professionally done, they'll whack you up price-wise.

With a custom exhaust, you'll want something to make sure air-flow is even. An induction kit (with exhaust) will ensure clean and balanced airflow. Ramair make one specifically for the Citigo/Up/Mii. It's the easiest thing in the world to put on, too. It will take all of a minute and a half.

Halfords Xenon style H4 bulbs are great, they look white (slight blue tint, the bulb is a light blue). They're completely road legal, they're 50% brighter (so increased vision - they're honestly amazing on unlit roads at night), they won't dazzle other drives, they will last forever too. As for the DRL's, well, my MTEC's have lasted more than half a year - although now I've said that, I'm laying money down they'll go *puff* tomorrow and blow.

The Up! GT has a custom twin exit exhaust, although you'll have to cut holes in your rear diffuser to fit it.

Heko wind deflectors do improve the looks, I feel. Some form of sports suspension? (Eibach's?) to improve handling of your car?

As stated above ^ I have flyeye tint, here's a link - http://www.flyeyeskit.co.uk/shop/product.php?id_product=13 I went for 2x of the 30cm x 50cm Black 1 and it came up like this:

I also did a bit of experimentation with some MK4 Golf side repeaters that we're tinted, definitely a must have, especially on a red car to help go with the black/red theme I've got going on, here's a link - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AWBGBVO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and what they look like on:

Because the stock bulbs are white they supply you with 2x orange bulbs although they are a bit dim and shoddy, I have seen somewhere on the Up! forum some chappy installed a LED side repeater with 3 LED bulbs per repeater, not really to my liking though

The film I have got isn't that horrible flies eyes rubbish. Depending on time this weekend I'll get it put on and post pictures yp

Is it removable? I went for flyeye on the basis I can revert back to stock if needed

Yes mate. I'll find the link. I wasn't keen on the flys eyes after seeing it on another motor.

Thank you for the tips guys :) as my citigo is currently rarely used now would be the perfect time to start tinkering as I don't have to worry too much abour having it ready for the next day, as such I am now going to research all the links and names and things you have currently given me and I shall let you know what I plan to do :)

what alternatives to fly eyes are there btw?

also hyphons did you just do the backs with that because I plan to do the front as well but have little to no experience with tinting?

I like the look of those golf repeaters but were they easy to switch over from the standard ones?

im guessing you used 1 30x50 sheet per light?

im guessing you used 1 30x50 sheet per light?

 also with the tint it was my first time too, I haven't done it great, you need to make sure you the surface is dry first (and clean but glass cleaner should do) they provide you with a blade and a card to apply it, cut it to a rough size first, you can peel it off to restick should any air bubbles appear, the backs are relatively easy being a almost flat surface, however with the fronts I'm unsure if it would suit and it would likely be a bit more tricky being a curved surface, but I reckon a dark tint on the fogs maybe? With the backs I did accidentally cut into the paint a couple of times but it's unnoticeable, the golf repeaters are a pretty easy job it's as simple as changing a bulb, take out take the old repeater then the old bulb out put the new orange bulb in and slot the new bulbs into the new repeaters (will require a bit of force) on top, the new ones however haven't a spring mechanism like the OEM ones but they fit in the same, see the link for them installed etc: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/320353-the-slow-slow-very-slow-citigo-project/page-4 (see post #115) the MOST IMPORTANT thing to remember is removing the repeaters first time: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/320353-the-slow-slow-very-slow-citigo-project/page-5 (see post #123 VERY IMPORTANT POST and then post #133 which explains what happens when you prise them out incorrectly) message me if you need to :)

I've ordered 4 30x50 sheets from flyeyes and i have watched the videos for both and seems relatively simple but we shall see if that is the case when it turns up haha besides if i dont like it on the front i can always take it off again right? couldn't i use the flyeyes on the side repeaters if i really wanted to? swapping them over just to have them a tint colour does seem a bit of a farse lol i work with a stanley blade to precision every day of the week so it shouldnt be a problem ive just not done it before and not being experienced is not nice lol i'll be honest i forgot about the fogs haha been driving a fabia recently that doesnt have any front fogs lol i'm struggling to find this ramair exhaust system that was suggested to me earlier by camlep :(

Gonna pop to halfords at some point this weekend and have a look see at whats going on bulbwise, i have also ordered some interesting items from amazon :D i shall upload pics of them when they get here, there pretty cool lets leave it at that aha gonna research them there wind deflectors now, didnt you send me a link to them sometime david?

I did use flyeye on the side repeaters, but I just didn't like them, I'm too fussy :P and nope I'll PM a link over in a minute, also removing the tint is easy, it sticks well but removes easy with the use of hands

ah so if i dont like it i can quite easily take it back off haha thats fine :) im fussy too which is why im asking people rather than just trying and messing it up lol cool :) i wasn't sure about them at first but theyve grown on me

I also believe even after installation you can return them, I think there's a option called "I tried them and I didn't like them"
