Columbus Buzzing

Featured Replies

Is anyone experiencing buzzing sound from Columbus occasionally? It is similar to the plasma buzz. You can notice it when the head unit is turned on and no audio has been played. It is not coming from the speakers. It goes away when the head unit is turned off.

Just something to check.....the headunit in the glovebox i believe has a fan unit in it (seems to on my Amundsen at least). Its often very audible for a few minutes upon switching off the car as it cools down. Its definitely not such a noise you're hearing is it?

I have a similar problem with my Bolero (my thread). I've shown it to a dealer and although they heard the noise, the policy is not to replace anything since it's not audible enough for them. My noise is not caused by a fan (checked) or any other moving device. It's just an electrical noise. Gets louder when it's dark, and also, when I change the instrument panel lighting level.

Spot on! Same problem here. It is an electrical noise which goes up when the screen brightness is increased. Similar to the Tv noise in below video. It also increases when engine RPM goes above 3000.
