Webbers big shunt @WEC

So with a big shunt in F1 this season raising the question about closed cockpits... thoughts?

I ask as I don't know how long it took for him; webber to get out. Or if he'd hit anything else, if he'd of been able to get out easily. Certinaly a fair bit of debris around him. Definitly glimpsed away as it unfolded on the video.

Ive been drawn to catching more close, contact; contactless, racing of late. Even a bit of F3 for some actual racing. It does make me think F1 is the reward for surviving.

Webber has taken some big shunts in his time too.

Just watched the film of the accident,  it was some hit.

WEC is intrinsicly dangerous with all the different performance levels, but how many times do the works cars have a monster shunt due to some rich amateur in a Ferrari / Porsche / Aston?

We could have lost McNish & Rockenfeller at Le Mans 2011, Davidson in 2012, and now Webber (and it's a miracle he's still here after flying the Mercedes in '99 and the RedBull in '10).

I know the gentlemen racers fill the grid out, but the FIA really should be more strict on licensing, or send them to play in Blancpain or other GT series where all the cars have similar performance levels.
