Yep thats how I worked it out too. Plus my car is a week away from delivery so cancelling now and starting again would not be my preferred option. Plus I would lose my £500 deposit. Im happy with the savings I negotiated (using carwow to get a price match) so I'm not too fussed about not getting the lower finance as well. The dealer does have to make some money 

 

But thats back to where tasmanuk already is....

 

£55 saving a month is only £1,980 over 36 months plus the grand you are suggesting is available and we're back to roughly the same discount.  No ?

You are correct. I hadn't read the previous posts by him.

I however was suggesting that there is still room for discount even on the lower finance rate (for people looking to buy).

But if it works out cheaper on the higher finance then obviously it's a better deal.

I apologise for not reading the thread fully before giving my 10 pence worth, consider myself told off and will pay more attention next time!!

Slightly OT, I was in a Volvo dealership yesterday, and for an S60 R Design, they wanted £32,500 on 0%. Worked out at nearly £600/ month.  Can't justify twice the cost of the mortgage for a car.

Sorry Volvo thought a S60 R Design was going to devalue £21-1/2K (or 66.46%) in 3 years, seems a good enough reason not to get one alone forget the affordability
