longest spin, still happy!

Featured Replies

well, yesterday i drove me octy 230miles to belfast, and then up to steppes in glasgow from cairnryan. Its longest lump of a journey ive done in her since buying it and despite applying speed limit + 10percent the whole way, mostly mway to belfast, did it on 1/2 a tank of diesel and arse not even numb. Just finished loading a crib, highchair, 5 50litre boxes of baby clothes, a nappy bin, 8in1 travel system, travel cot, matresses, changing mat and assorted toys and a bouncy chair thing. Depart for the ferry to do th return journey shortly and i cant wait! Ill post pics of the load tomorrow when i get back home.

should say i spose, i left the back seat squabs and head rests at home... Let the back seats fold flat. I was tempted to remove them completely, but couldnt arsed dealing with trying to get the middle seat belt back in like last time!

So... it hurt my return leg MPG a little, but at least i had folded the rear seats flat to save weight!

I see some wasted space in there, just next to the pillow, a shoe box at least ;) Seriously good work mind!

Sister inLaw and her husband reckoned i would only get half the pile into the car.

only item that got left was one of them kinda kart things the baby can sit into and scoot around in them selves.

it would've fit, but felt it was going to be too high up for sliding forward into the back of my head under heavy braking if needed...

decided it could stay where it was :D

The doubters should always step aside and let the packer get on with it, let he who fills the boot be judged when the key is in the ignition, never before.

My Mrs does my head in with the boot, just throws stuff in hoping it will sort itself out, laughs at me when I'm organising holiday packing and then goes 'oh, I didn't think that would all go in so well.' Reminds me of when we moved to Wales and fitted our house into a 3.5t Luton, literally packed to the door, and we still took the tomato plants.
