New to Skoda!

Featured Replies

Just bought my first Skoda (Citigo) so just getting used to a small car. Bit of a necessity buy as the old saab was uneconomical to repair some engine issues. Quite happy with the car so far, infact it's a great commuter which is all I want. Notice the heater is exceptional! The model is SE and to be honest I haven't really looked at the owners manual yet but can you tell me are some simple functions like average MPG, outside temp, cabin temp etc available to bring up on the display? Or are these trip functions only on higher spec cars? I got a fair bit to fathom out so hopefully get for a decent ride out at xmas and see how car performs. Look forward to contributing on the Forum, regards, barnie

The question is do you have the PID? That has of course navigation and a multifunction display for fuel usage etc and media function. The PID comes as standard on Elegance models, well it did when I ordered mine back in 2012.

It's a great little car for city driving also great on the motorway. I found it equal to any bigger car I have owned on longer trips comfort wise, just don't expect the engine power to be there when you need that extra for say overtaking as with a bigger engined car, but it's still pokey when it wants to be.

Your best reading the manual, that way you won't miss some little detail/features you didn't know about. Plenty of info on here to trawl through though. Enjoy.

thanks for reply, there is no PID but might get one someday as seems this opens up a new world of in-car features. Like I said car is mainly for a 25 mile a day commute, few short weekend journeys and in 2 weeks I used £30 petrol so it's not doing bad at all. Actually its quite nippy in town, I even overtook a cyclist last night, even though it was downhill. Joking aside I'm sure it will be a good purchase. One problem I'm finding is it's prone to misting up and I know using the aircon sorts this but is this something other owners are experiencing?

There has been a LOT of discussion about misting/demisting on here and the VW Up! forum.

Make sure the vent setting is set to fresh air into the cabin not on recirculate. Always use air con to start off, it helps clear the windows, they should be clear in no time at all.

skoda_zpsbb609014.jpgnot my first colour choice but getting used to it, wife got her eye on it for herself now.

I like the green :envy:

Misting up.....oh yeah.....I don't think I've had a small car that hasn't done this.

As MickA said that is the best way to clear the screen. Some owners buy water absorbing packs to help keep the damp away.

As a city car it's great, can't really fault mine for what it's used for.

Must be too much heavy breathing going on.
