Just wondered if someone on here bought and exported my old vRS and if so where did it get exported to???

 

I had my vRS from new in May 2006 and traded it in to Marshall Seat in Leicester in October 2010. I had checked the car on the DVLA checker a little earlier this year and it showed as having not been taxed since the beginning of March 2013 so i just assumed it had been written off etc..... I was showing someone the vehicle check site the other day and used my old car as an example but this time i noticed that the car had the export marker set to "yes" so i'm assuming that it means the car has been exported rather than written off????

 

 

So anyone know anything about where FG06 HOH, (a black vRS with xenons, ESP and cruise options), is now?????

Export marker does indeed mean just that, its also highly likely it is no longer on the original registration plate but instead on a national one of the country it ended up in. The car could now be anywhere in EU land or beyond, and no longer traceable.

 

These days if a car is written off and declared scrapped by the breaker the record will vanish completely from the DVLA, certainly my old MK1 vRS and several other cars I know have been scrapped are no longer listed.

I was under the impression that it's if the reg is changed the car disappears from the DVLA vehicle checker.... I can see numerous old cars of mine and the mrs' that show as not being taxed for over ten years or so. If i put the original reg for my current car in it comes back with nothing because it's now on my own reg.

 

Same thing happened on the mrs' old Lexus the new owner put it on private plates straight away and so it dissapeared off the checker pretty much as soon as she had sold it.

By the way..... I know someone on here nearly bought it from Marshalls in Leicester but i think they went for another car in the end..... Maybe someone on here bought it at some point then sold it on to the person who exported it???

Must say I've had a lot of interest in my Fabia from foreign folk on Instagram as of late. Tagging there friends saying 'hopefully new car'
