I'm now even more convinced to get it remapped to avoid being embarrassed by a mad Scotsman in a stripped out ibiza :)

  • So the last page of this thread means that anyone foolish enough to be thinking about an RS3 should just go and buy a Fabia VRS as it's just as fast then? :wonder:

  • Cables are last decade. All wireless now mate

  • The Golf R was the first car I ordered without driving first. Reading the blurb, the RS3 will be even better. However, as we all know facts & figures dont always match the driving experience I

Its rare you actually come across a similar car with the driver wanting to equally get a shirt on though IMO.

Even driving a 1.2 on local country roads, if i want to get a shift on, its quite rare somebody will still continue to pass. Even though I've only got 70bhp. People dont seem that bothered.

The tiddler would be the likes of a 1390cc 1.4 TSI Twincharger with official Skoda figures of 180 ps Minimum & only 250 Nm.

We obviously never race on roads, but if one is ever up your jacksy maybe floor yours and see how you get on and how far in front you are 3 seconds later.

Maybe best drop below 4,000 rpm when doing it though.

Which car would it be in?

Without being rude or causing trouble.

That compared to the 180ps twincharger is like a polo blue gt vs a polo GTI. Is it not?

Should of thought the gti would be quite abit different.

It would, so that's the polo gti, right? The upcoming polo R will have more, I'm sure I read 250 ish bhp? Once a polo has say 300 bhp it really is getting silly. Or someone is fibbing.

I dno what it is lately.

Hatches are going crazy haha.

Dont you know? apart from when its burning oil, they are the fastest car in the world. so quick infact VAG are axing it as its too fast!

They certainly would not go and buy a vRS Fabia.

The subject just went onto the 350Nm 280 ps car overtaking & pace to overtake and the 250Nm car overtaking, nothing else really.

Overtaking usually means being behind a vehicle or vehicles & wanting to get passed them, getting a clear space and passing quickly and safely and getting back into your own lane, nothing more complicated than that.

So often it happens from, 30-40 mph, maybe 50-60 and getting a shift on and back to the speed limit.

Plenty good cars out there for overtaking, but not much good at anything else.

If you hadn't have written this I doubt anyone would have known what overtaking was, well you learn something new everyday

The point was that the Twinchargers with DSG have many faults, they are well documented  & the 0-62 mph is nothing special,

but there is one Party Trick and it is pickup once it is rolling, & the pace it has to overtake,

and the ability to surprise drivers of vehicles with 50% more power & the ease to do it thanks to the DSG.

George, mine has DSG, and it's great at surprising owners of vehicles fitted with 1.4 twincharged engines ;)

Come on now,

how many have you seen since you got your car, and how many were surprised without you going below 4,000 rpm ?

& Why would they be surprised that a Leon Cupra 280 is rather nippy.

Come on guys. Let's have a race (:

Pink slips?

Seemingly Stever knows already how much quicker he can get his car moving compared to them,

and i have already had standard ones up against them, and know they were both being driven to see what was what,

so thats sorted, we know what they can do.

They maybe going faster but the HTP would be costing less ;)

Every mk of the fabia vRS has been one of the fastest cars in the road when moving

We dont bother ;).

Could leave em both far behind ;) haha.

Id have to nip home and swap vehicles though... Lol.
