I would like to fit some led number plate bulbs to my 2010 Octavia VRS, and looking various web site there are many selling error free can bus led’s. But most seem to have  a caveat stating that on some more advance can bus you still need additionally resistors, the systems been VW group.

Has anyone successfully fitted led ‘s without errors or flickering. Just been lazy and what to keep things simply without the need of fitting extra resistors

It cannot be done on your Model Year vRS...mine is the same

You WILL need resisters for the rear number plate festoon led bulbs

I fitted ones without resistors etc and coded out the errors. You do lose theatre style dimming of the lights with the coming home function and also they do not work when the car is left with the parking lights on and the engine off.

I reiterate to others reading this..only certain model year Octavias can be 'coded'.... Mine could not

If you have an ohms meter read the resistance of the bulb  that is fitted originally then fit a resistor of this ohms resistance (28.8 ohms spring to mind but i could be wrong) along with the L.E.D. A mixed bag of resistors from Maplins and the like are very handy  for this
