Fabia gear selection problem

Hi

I cannot select any gears in my Fabia 1.2 petrol (54 numberplate). Earlier I went to get some fuel and after less than a mile at a roundabout, suddenly I couldn't select any gears. Clutch feels normal, not any different than usual. The gear stick feels like is stuck and has very little movement. Can't even press it down to select reverse. I kinda managed to select 4th I think and drove it back home. It exhibits the same symptoms with the engine on or off.
Any ideas as what it could be the problem ? Is this the end of the road for it ?
