Can you change a factory order.

Featured Replies

Hi

I have ordered a new vRS but have failed to spec the upgraded Canton stereo. I have just been reading the reports regarding the poor quality of the standard system. Can you add an option after ordering the car?

Kind Regards

John

If your car is being built to order the spec can be changed until it gets to "Status 20" so I suspect if more than a month to delivery it should be possible to change the spec with no problem.
Ask your dealer what the status of your order is if "Status 10" you'll be OK.

As above. If it's at '10' you should be OK. Ignore the 4 week rule though, speak to your dealer sharpish, with the Xmas shut down cars could get confirmed sooner. I've also had it the other way round and the car hasn't gone to 20 on our system until a week before build BUT there'd be no chance in changing options. Also bear in mind that changes can push an order back, something you won't know until you make the change though.

Call your dealer first thing. I ordered mine on 13th Sept. Exactly a month later I asked them to add ACC on after the new brochure came out. Dealer thought it wouldn't be a problem and it wasn't. Car was built near end of November having been bought forward a week from original prediction.

"once more unto the breach dear friends" or should that read parts bin lottery instead of "breach"

Seriously, you're gonna have the car a while, get it the way you want it but, don't expect the GFV to increase, optional extras add nothing to residuals.
