Lightweight alloys

Featured Replies

Is there a database which shows the weight of certain after market alloy wheels?

I'm on the lookout for a new set of lightweight track wheels.

I do have bigger brakes and I don't want to use spacers, which makes it a bit difficult.

I recently trial fitted on of my brothers wheels which was a 17x 7.5j et35 but didn't quite go.

I know the style will make a difference.

Does anyone know of a showroom in the south east that let's you trial fit wheels?

Not 100% sure, but rochford tyres (think thats what they are called) have 50 billion adds on ebay for wheels, im sure they would be willing to help out. and only across the estuary to you ;)

My MAK XLR 18" wheels are 7.9kg and clear 4 pot Brembos without spacers.

I've got an excel document Charlie with a load of wheels on it.  99% are foreign wheels or simply "WTF?" but I used the database when selecting my OZ superleggera as found they were amongst the lightest 17" wheels at 7.2kg (and 8J too) in existence (and within reasonable budget too)

PM / FB me an email address and I will send it.

Perfect thanks Jase :)

I thought 8 j may be a bit too much?

PM on its way

After months of research I settled on the 15" Superlegerra for the Ignis as they came in at about 5kg per wheel.  I'd be interested in the database too if that's okay?  I weighed one of the 19" alloys off the Vectra the other day and it was an eyewatering 24.9kg including the tyre!  I'm on the lookout for some replacements, maybe even 18" as the TD Pro Race 1.2 seem to do the job pretty well.
