New forum member with Skoda Yeti 4X4

Featured Replies

Hi to other forum members,  I am already finding this forum a very useful repository of information.

Recently part ex'd my 08 plate VW Tiguan 2.0 Tdi (140) 4motion for a 2011 Skoda Yeti CR SE 4x4 (110)

Ideally I wanted the 140 bhp engine but couldn't find one locally at right price/year/mileage etc.

I thought after the Tiguan I would miss the extra power/torque from the bigger engine and was prepared to go down the remap/tuning box route.

After 4 weeks and 1500 miles I am quite happy with the power and 'driveability' of the car.

I guess the fact that the Yeti is a fair bit lighter than the tiguan helps mitigate the power of the smaller engine ?

I live in rural North Yorkshire and winters here can be hard and lengthy so yesterday I had 4 x nokian WR D3 225/50 r17 winter tyres fitted.

I purchased the tyres from http://www.tyreleader.co.uk/  £350.00, ordered on 11th delivered (from Germany) on 16th. Excellent service.

To date I am really pleased with the performance of the Yeti and have checked the mpg once (brim > brim) and got 50 mpg.

Mainly quite country roads and the A1 of course.

I guess this is all pretty mundane stuff but it equates to a pretty pleasant motoring experience for my wife and I so far.

Long may it continue.

Welcome Roy...

A good choice (car and tyres.)

My brother's done over 100,000 happy miles in his 110  4x4 Elegance.( He still thinks it's a 140 but I've never had the heart to enlighten him.) :)

Welcome to Briskoda, Roy. :)

Hi new to this forum .I am wanting to buy a new yeti 170 elegance .I have found a online site called buyacaronline.co.uk.has anyone used them and is it safe as there price is pretty good thanks.

I would only buy through an online broker where all monies, namely deposit then final balance, are paid direct to a dealer. The dealer in turn pays a small commission to the broker. This is the way the majority of online brokers operate.
